Ran across a thread on the Vortex forums where they were discussing the values of MK2s. Among the discussion was a note that the most valuable MK2s were the 16V MK2s.
Apparently MK1s are in the 10K-30K range right now for mint condition cars and the MK2s have bottomed out in price around $3K and are now rising. A mint 92 MK2 16V seems to now be going for $8K+ and these prices seem to be rising. This one sold three years ago for $6,500: http://bringatrailer.com/2012/03/29/original-owner-clean-1992-volkswagen-gti-16v/ Maybe these rising prices will encourage more people to put money into restoring/preserving these cars. And also encourage VW to make more replacement bits that have gone NLA. -Larry -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MK2-16v" group.
