Hi Thomas,

there is not much that you can do besides coding a better solution.
We need code to
- process the administrative boundaries which dvide drive-on-right (dor) and
drive-on-left (dol) areas so
that roads are cut there
- so-called external nodes are written to make routing across tile boundaries
work

My understanding is also that mkgmap might have to process tiles twice when
they contain
both dol and dor areas.

This is not a simple change, therefore nobody tried to code it until now.

Reg. routing: The problems are rather small.
You can expect wrong routing on roundabouts (wrong direction) and probably
wrong penalties for sharp turns at road junctions, as a left turn in a dor area
is more time consuming
and wrong setting of dor/dol will produce false preditions of travel time.

Betreff: [mkgmap-dev] mkgmap (StyledConverter) Tile contains both drive-on-left
an drive-on right

Hi,
i am converting africa from http:\\download-geofabrik.de. mkgmap r-3671
( and any older versions too ) give me a warrning : 'Schwerwiegend
(StyledConverter): file xyz.osm.pbf :Attention: Tile contains both
drive-on left (104037) and drive-on right roads (6443) '. in my
STYLEFILE i have the option --drive-on=detect,right. The img-file is
successfull created and routing works in Mapsource. But is the routing
correct ? Tiles contains many different countries. What con i do to
prevent the warning ?
