I am struggling for years now to find a solution for controlling draworder without using TYP.
It´s not only about some old devices that do not support TYP. The whole range of recent marine devices does not feature TYP! Even super modern GPSmap 7400/7600 or 8400/8600 series with price tag up to 15.000 EUR need maps without TYP. So it´s really, really important not to rely on TYP draworder. To me it only makes sense to order polygons if the user is not using a TYP file. TYP files effectively attribute a draworder to different types of polygons. Sorting polygons into size will work if the user has plotted two polygons of the same type, ie buildings on top of buildings - which is very unusual to say the least It is true that some 'old' non NT Garmin TOPO maps came with a TYP file which did not give polygons a draworder - indeed, you could quickly mess up the layers by giving one or two polygons a draworder. -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n8.nabble.com/patch-to-write-polygons-in-decreasing-order-tp5884038p5884813.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ mkgmap-dev mailing list mkgmap-dev@lists.mkgmap.org.uk http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/mkgmap-dev
