Hello ael, please note that rendering (and also indexing) depends on the specific Garmin unit and its firmware. The page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_Map_On_Garmin/POI_Types shows a list of "point of interest" and their default rendering / indexing on several device types. It also links to pages for lines and areas. It is a little dated, and does not always include the latest devices. Some where should also be a list for custome types, they are not available on all devices; unfortunately, I do not have the link to it. Kind regards, Bernhard

I have also just checked out the mkgmap source code, and had a quick skim hoping to find a list there. I was also hoping to see the in-built styles somewhere which I guess that I have yet to find. I do think that the style manual really needs to include at least a partial list (presumably all reverse-engineered) or pointers to where this can be found. Can someone provide a link, or otherwise indicate where this is in the mkgmap source to save me time. Apologies for disturbing proper development work! ael
