So I've been playing with this card for a bit longer.
Problems:
* Kernel module is closed source and only released by BlackLink. This
means if your not running a stock kernel you can't recompile the module.
* API is not proprietary rather then V4L, so you need to use custom code.
* There exists a commercial and open source gstreamer plugins.
* The SDK is pretty however good.
* No FOSS support for some of the non-capture inbuilt hardware.
* No input scalers or similar.
Good:
* It's cheap, cheaper then any other card on the market.
* It does work and capture quality is excellent.
* The API does seem to be pretty light on the CPU.
