Instructions to unsubscribe from this list at the end of the message - --------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems that, after a long period of hibernation in which nobody did anything about the lack of a Maltese spell checker, now that one is available some people decided to do something - criticise.
An article which appeared in The Times and TMIS bewailed the number of errors in the spell checker (even though the spell checker webpage states clearly to all visitors that it's a preliminary version and contains errors). Is it a coincidence that this criticism appeared just as someone else was poised to release his own spell checker for Windows? I wonder. I've received many supportive messages from different people, including linguists. I hope they also send their supportive messages to these newspapers. I sent a response to both TMIS and The Sunday Times, which I also placed online: http://linux.org.mt/article/sp-comments - -- Ramon Casha Malta Linux User Group -- http://linux.org.mt - --------------------------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the linux mailing list.
