Instructions to unsubscribe from this list at the end of the message - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi,
lately I'm having some Xwindows / Windows trouble. Till two months ago I was happy, I had linux and windows running on different partitions with a dual boot system, giving me virtually no trouble at all. Lately some weird things started propping out, xwindows starts crashing a lot, randomly, while MS windows seems to corrupt every exe / zip file I download from the Internet, i.e. therefore I can't update my virus scanner, install new software etc. Whenever I download a zip file and unzip it, it tells me CRC check error. So in despair I formatted both my Linux and windows hard disk and installed linux alone on a hard disk (I physically removed the other drive before format, so if there was a virus it wouldn't spread) and to my surprise it still gave me the same bunch of errors. Then I did the same thing with windows and still it seems to corrupt exe / zip files I download from the net. Anyone has any suggestion what I can do? Could it be I have a virus a ROM chip? john - --------------------------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the linux mailing list.
