Hey Philip, love the concept, its really cool, and a refined version would be great for students (speaking as a student).
I showed it to a friend at Mcast (ICT) and he liked it too! Perhaps it would be a good idea to put together a common theme, and have a set of posters about different aspects of open source. Another idea, related to this but perhaps it would be best to open a new thread about it, it would probably be best to work a little on the website if we are going to be promoting ourselves, and have something that attracts potential members who visit it.
