Yes Anton, jaunty comes with both puleaudio and alsa but some times I think things get a mixed up, the sound can be 'scratchy' at times I've seen quit a few forum posts to this effect and I had it myself. Strange but moving the volume control and resetting the PCI would fix it! [alsamixer in the terminal] ALSA 1.0.20 seems to work good.
Having said that this morning I've upgraded to 1.0.21. he! he! Ref: http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2009/08/31/upgrade-alsa-1-0-21-on-ubuntu-jaunty-9-04/ If you try it. First remove 1.0.20 it is in /usr/src/alsa Paul Anton Xuereb wrote: > didnt jaunty come with pulseaudio ? > > > > 2009/9/13 paul morley <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> > > If you are experiencing sound issues on Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 or just > want > the latest version, you may want to upgrade to ALSA 1.0.20 (Ubuntu > Jaunty comes with Alsa version 1.0.18rc3 - you can check this by > typing > this in a terminal: cat /proc/asound/version).
