Yes Anton,
jaunty comes with both puleaudio and alsa but some times I think things 
get a mixed up,  the sound can be 'scratchy' at times I've seen quit a 
few forum posts to this effect and I had it myself. Strange but moving 
the volume control and resetting the PCI would fix it!  [alsamixer in 
the terminal]  ALSA 1.0.20 seems to work good.

Having said that this morning I've upgraded to 1.0.21. he! he!

If you try it. First remove 1.0.20 it is in /usr/src/alsa
