I'd had a PC on which I had an older version of Mnemosyne.  The PC

Mnemosyne program.  What I can't figure out is whether my old cards
are hidden somewhere in those files.  I don't see any xml files in
there.
Does anyone have any ideas about how (or whether I am able) to rescue
my old cards?

Thanks,

The XML is just an export/import format. What's Mnemosyne's data when at home? It's a file called 'default.mem'.
I suppose you could try starting up a fresh new Mnemosyne instance, swap the
new/empty default.mem for your old one, and then you can export (presumably to
import into your real Mnemosyne instance, if you created one since then).
