So one aspect of the current UI that annoys me is the shaded out grade buttons. Early on, I sometimes hit them instead of the answer button, and when I had a good pace going I wasn't always sure where I was. (This is sometimes irksome as well because I enabled the 'don't edit unless answer has been shown' feature.)
Why not simply display the 'show answer' button in the same space as the grade-n buttons? (That is, the one section of pixels would simply switch back and forth.) It'd save space, make it much clearer where one is, and also make things easier on mouse-users since they will have to move less if everything should be graded a 4, for example?
