Hi, I've updated the code so that the sync server can now handle more than one user. This means that it can e.g. be used as a central webserver so that people can sync their data in the cloud if they wish.
I have no plans of hosting such a server myself, but since the server code is open source (LGPL in this case) somebody could easily step up and fill the void. They could even charge a fee to users to recover their hosting costs. The same server code will of course still be shipped with the desktop version of Mnemosyne 2.0 so that you can e.g. sync your mobile devices against your desktop over your home network. I've had a look to see if the same openSM2sync protocol is flexible enough to support hosting shared decks (e.g. on a central webserver), and it would seem that this would indeed be possible. However, the full implementation for this is something for post 2.0. Cheers, Peter -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "mnemosyne-proj-users" group.
