Hello.

I've been happily using Mnemosyne for six months or so (thanks Peter
and everyone who contributes for a great program) now on XP, but
decide to dual boot Ubuntu again for various reasons.

I was wondering is it possible to directly share a database and files
like you can a Firefox profile across the two systems on the same
harddrive? For example my Firefox profiles are set up on a shared
partition which both the XP Firefox and Linux Firefox use so that I
don't have to worry about any syncing. In that case I'd have mnemosyne
running on both systems and just learn my cards on which ever system I
was running at the time.

If not, is there a recommended method to move the database and all
your files from XP to Ubuntu. Is it just a case of moving
the .mnemosyne file from your Documents and Settings place in XP to
the appropriate place in Ubuntu? My cards only refer to media
contained within that directory. Any dangers or pitfalls to watch out
for?

I'm a little paranoid because I've been pushing the cards quite hard
for a while now and hate the idea of even losing just a few days worth
of data.

Thanks for any advice!
