Sorry Peter, let me clarify.
This also happens when I change the card type, not just when I paste
over previous data. I've attached screen shots of a card which was
originally front to back only and the Japanese font appears
correctly (larger). Then by only changing the card type to
vocabulary and no other editing, the Japanese font became smaller.
Now my deck has become a mix of 6 point larger Japanese and Japanese
which is the same size as latin.
I've also included a screenshot of my card appearance settings. I'm
a bit confused by increasing the font. If I do that every time I
make a change won't the font setting just get larger and larger
rather than maintaining the 6 point larger size?
Cheers,
Tom

Not exactly sure what you mean... As I said, ignore any
formatting/sizes you see after pasting in the edit window, but if e.g.
you increase the font in the settings dialog, the font in the review
window should also increase.
Cheers,
Peter

Hello Peter,
Actually the issue appears in the review window after the card has
been saved. Because Japanese characters can be quite complex and my
eyes aren't the best any more, the larger font is very helpful.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi,
In the editor, the card size might do something funky upon pasting
(this is in my todo list), but in the review window and when doing
'preview', the
font size should be as expected.
But do let me know if you still have problems.
Cheers,
Peter
Quoting Tom <[email protected]>:
I'm currently running Mnemosyne 2.2.1-RC2.
I've been having an odd issue with Japanese font size for some time, since
running version 1.x. I had hoped that upgrading to version 2. would resolve
it, but it hasn't.
When I make cards I usually copy & paste from a Jps dictionary into mnemo.
My card appearance setting is set to "Increase non-latin characters by 6
points". If
I only copy & paste in once everything is fine. However, if I
make a mistake or want to edit by pasting over top of the original the
Japanese font, the Jps font shrinks down to the same size as the latin
characters.
Also, after upgrading to ver 2.2.1-RC2 I notice that if I change the card
type of an existing card to vocabulary the Jps font shrinks without me
editing the actual contents of the card.
Does anyone have any advice?
