Hi,

1) Yes, you need the html tags. The path is relative to your default.db_media 
directly. To get a feeling for how it works, just add some audio through 
Mnemosyne itself, and you will see that your audio gets copied to that 
directory.

2) You can use Window's mixer to mute the sound of the app if you wish.
