I guess some other things that could help us resolve: 1. Are you comfortable using the Terminal? 2. If so, can you run pip --version or pip3 --version ? 3. If so, were you able to run pip install mnemosyne-proj ?
I am also having troubles using the installer but to directly get the issue solved using pip might be easier for you.
