The "Awesome Screen" as we currently know it is going away. You can see mockups in bug 862793, but the basic idea is that tapping on the URL bar will always open about:home, which will have a lot of the list functionality from the current awesome screen (plus more!). Since about:home is becoming more than just a basic start page, maybe we can brand it with some "Awesome" name. We definitely will want to come up with a good way to describe this change to users as it makes its way towards release, but that's still a ways away :)
