(url, mail archive, source code) I suspect the best way to see the threads that are created at Fennec's start would be to launch Fennec and dump the threads in gdb. Most of the threads have human-readable names that indicate what they do. MDN documents various thread APIs in Gecko https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/XPCOM/Making_cross-thread_calls_using_runnables.
