Sorry. I missed the actual start of the Fx34 cycle, but here are some of the higher priority projects we are working on for the next four (4) weeks:
* Search Activity/Widget: This project spent most of the Fx33 cycle exploring different design ideas. Toward the end of the Fx33 cycle, the team focused on a set of objectives needed to get the project landed in Nightly and available to a larger test group. Checkout the project page [1] for more information, including milestones and bug lists. Primary tasks are: Finish milestone v0 bugs to enable the feature in Nightly, and continue to smooth the rough edges of the core functionality while the project stays in Nightly. * Tablet Refresh: With the initial design work on a tablet refresh [2], the team created an implementation plan [3] in the Fx33 cycle. Work now begins on the implementations. The work will start in an HG branch and will be pulled into mozilla-central when it's ready. Depending on how we can break apart the implementation work, some parts of the tablet refresh could start landing in Fx34. * First-run and Getting Started: We are pushing forward on a "Getting Started" first-run experience. A lightweight experience [4] should be landing in Fx34 and then we can start building more into it. There are a few contextual hint projects [5] that are still planned for Fx34 too. Otherwise, we intend to watch Beta UI telemetry to see what impact the initial contextual work yields. * Share/Open Intent Handling: With almost 50% of URLs being loaded into Firefox coming from external applications, we have started a project [6] to improve the user experience. To start, we plan to address sharing URLs to Firefox in the Fx34 cycle. In the future, we plan to address opening URLs in Firefox too.
