Thanks for all the comments on Etherpad.

From some of the comments, the startup problem seems to be setting up the settings/preferences and it works on the second start. So, if you were stuck on the home screen, try: - killing fennec (Settings | Apps | Fennec fabrice | Force kill) and restarting it - uninstalling, reinstalling. After install, do NOT click "launch", but "Done", then click home button to launch the home screen.

See whether that works better for you.

Also, do not permanently associate the home button with B2G, just say "once", because I was stuck (see my Etherpad comments at bottom for details).

Fabrice, please test on fresh devices or emulator images that never ran b2g, it seems that many had the same problem as me. Also, the home/back buttons need work, in order not to be stuck.

Subject: Introducing b2gdroid

As part of the efforts to bring the FirefoxOS experience to more
people, we are working on a tool to easily flash your existing Android
devices. (for which we have a port) You can track this work at
https://github.com/lissyx/b2g-installer.

This is a great tool, however it's still a fairly big commitment for the
user, a bit like jumping in
the deep side of the pool. We also have limited device coverage, since
we need a gonk port to be available for that to be useful.

To reach more people, I started working on an experiment to run Gaia as
a homescreen launcher for Android. This will let you test drive (as much as
possible) the FirefoxOS UI, while reaching more devices and more people.
It gives the user the ability to manage your Android apps from Gaia's
homescreen
app. Consider this as dipping your toes before fully jumping in to the
experience. We expect
people to do this soon! So this is *not* a new product, and this is far from
having the polish we would like. I would appreciate any testing and
feedback.

Go visit https://people.mozilla.org/~fdesre/b2gdroid/ to install, or
build by yourself using https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1170323

Enjoy!
