NGOs and campaign groups have so far been slow to take advantage of mobile phones.
An event planned to be the first in a series about Mobile and Campaigners, aims to show that there is plenty of mobile technology out there already and to provide a forum help take advantage of it and to share ideas and expertise. For the launch event we are fortunate to have Oscar Soria from Greenpeace in Argentina who will be talking about his first hand experiences of mobileactivism and some of Greenpeace Argentina's usage of mobile phones in campaigns (which is different!). He will draw on their work in the forest and the campaign on zero waste that recently won the 160Characters Mobile Messaging Award for 'Best messaging application: public sector/not for profit' as well as their forthcoming mobile projects. Wednesday, 21 June 18:30 Westminster Arms, 9 Storey's Gate, London SW1P 3AT More details and to register http://www.160characters.org/events.php?action=view&eid=23 Please circulate this invite thanks Mike ~ | ~ ~ | ~ | ~ ~ | ~ | ~ ~ | ~ | ~ ~ | ~ | ~ ~ | ~ | ~ 160 Characters - the mobile messaging forum news ~ knowledge ~ networking ~ http://www.160characters.org http://www.tvmobilenews.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] tel: +44 (0) 1342 825169 mob: +44 (0) 7974 924289 Skype in: +44 207 870 1605 -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
