He talked about this in the radical data seminar I mentioned a few  
days ago. They tracked devices & also logged whatever the device  
revealed about its owners (device names etc).

When questioned how they'd got this past their Uni ethics committee  
the response (half joking) was 'we called it an art project'.

The result was data that looked a lot like standard animal behaviour  
graphs and gave some interesting insights in to how people used  
different kinds of spaces.
