Hello sir , though I am very new to this field , yet I am
enthusiastic .
Actually I am working to discover best algorithm for the mobile
positioning and developing a zava application that would display
the position of the mobile in real time without using necessary aid
of the network provider .
GPS are not wide-spread in our country so , there must be some
GSM technology , so that a cell user may know his position while
he is traveling, walking or lost somewhere.
I have thought of the basic software architecture that is the
software will carry a georeferenced map . By using the signal
strength , base station ID deciphered by the cell it can
triangulate its approximate position. I found articles but most of
them say it resides on server side and for the client to access the
service , it will need to send request to the operator and only if
the operator uses the technology will reply with the position and
provide necessary LBS. This is limited to the provider which has LBS
facilities and the accuracy also seems poor .
I would appreciate your help and any recommendation that is
related to my finding. As you have researched on a similar topic
I expect utmost help from you .
