Overview:
This Android(tm) Course is a hands-on guide to designing and building
mobile applications using Google's Android(tm) open-source platform. The
course explains what Android(tm) is and how it compares to other mobile
environments, the setup of the Android(tm) Eclipse-based development
tools, the Android(tm) SDK, all essential features, as well as the
advanced capabilities and APIs such networking, and GPS. This hands-on
course encourages students to learn by building increasingly more
sophisticated and meaningful mobile applications for Android(tm) phones.
By the end of the course, each participant would be able to build their
Android application incorporating many of the key aspects of the
platform.

creating applications for the Android(tm) mobile phone platform. It is
valuable to both novices and experienced developers who already have
experience in developing mobile applications for other platforms. Java

* Broadcast receivers
* Security and Permissions
* Telephony, SMS.
* Intro to XML parser
Prerequisite:
Basic Understanding of Architecture, Familiarity of having worked in
either a big or small software project and passion for architecture and
to do things better. Have used architecture / design principles in the
course of work helps.
Learning Objective:
* Understand how Android(tm) applications work, their life cycle,
manifest, Intents, and using external resources
* Design and develop useful Android(tm) applications with compelling
user interfaces by using, and creating your own layouts and Views.
* Tap into location-based services, and create map-based applications.
* Use Android's communication APIs for SMS, telephony, networking, and
internet resources (HTTP).
