There are different ways to switch between silent and normal modes. On many Android devices, you can adjust 2 sets of volumes, music volume and ringer volume. Just unlock the phone, press volume down till TalkBack goes silent, the music volume will be set to 0 %. Unlock the phone, wait for 5 seconds, press volume down till the phone vibrates ones, TalkBack will announce Ringer volume is set to 0 %. When on silent, just press volume up the same way, you can increase both sets of volumes. Another way is to use an app like Myprofiles. This is a largely accessible app that lets you create different profiles and activate them at will. One combination that could be tried in say an office environment, is to set ringr volume on 0 %, and may be keep music volume on 20 or 30 % and activate the profile when needed, and then switch back to normal when needed.
