Not sure if you can remove the player from that screen. Also not much of an idea on what the push notifications are for.
If you follow a particular station it will show up in your profile tab. That is where all the stations you are following will show. Echo is like recommending the channel or station. By following I also mean that the channels/stations you are subscribed too.
