Is it a Xolo phone that you are talking about? If so, which model of Xolo is this? I am using a Xolo Q700. The built-in dial pad is not accessible with TalkBack. But the problem is not the kind of what you described. The number does get typed, but TalkBack doesn't read the dial pad. What I am doing is to use a 3rd party dialer/contact manager app. I use DW Contacts and Dialer, a completely accessible and configurable dialer app. If the built-in dialer isn't working, then I suggest you install the same.
