Same goes for Black Heart Procession.>> B.H.P.- The buzz is spreading quick. I picked up their first album last week at a dollar sale solely based on the fact that the artwork was interesting and I think they opened for built to spill a few times and IT WAS A BUCK. Anyway, upon first listen I was completely blown away, and that's rare for me these days. I've heard the name tossed around quite a bit in the past week which makes me think there must have been a lot of dollar sales last weekend. Here's what I've learned since: San Diegans, Ex-Three Mile Pilot/Clikitat Ikatowi, just released their latest record "2" and supposedly, it's amazing also. Lots of piano, BUT IN A GOOD WAY, like old Tom Waits. The vocals are very listenable. Slow songs, heartbreak, singing saws and other weird sounds...like Sparklehorse maybe. It's damn, damn good, and I haven't said that about a record in a long time. Just damn good. Buy it. ashod.
