yeah he is & i think he's brilliant, but that doesn't mean he doesn't quote, 
interpolate, make allusions to, and reference other lyrics and lines in his 
songs.  like both caP'n jazz and the sky corvair (tim's old band) have songs 
with the line "between the moon & new york city" in them, and that's from 
that famous song "arthur's theme"...also in a joan of arc song he goes "in 
the room the women come and go (talking of leonard dicaprio)" which is a 
direct takeoff from t.s. eliot's line "in the room the women come and go 
(talking of michelangelo)."  just a couple of examples.  there's alot 
more...but i like that he does that cos it shows he's obviously intelligent 
(or at least aware of culture), and majored in english like me, haha...not 
to jump on yr ass, i'm just bored and thought i'd post this.
