I was in a fight club. And it was fun. But I haven't seen the movie.
Mostly, it was about a bunch of meatheads getting together (male and
female) and then duking it out before downing a few MGDs. Nothing to be
proud of, but more entertaining than staring at a TV or just sitting
around in a bar on a Friday night.
The people who were involved didn't advertise it and didn't think it was
glamorous. There wasn't any initiation or fighter requirements and as
soon as there was blood, or the fighters got through three/four rounds, a
match would end. A couple of the guys who were regulars fought in local
charity smokers once a year.
All the coverage of unlicensed boxing matches is pretty funny. First they
want to make playgrounds not be concrete and metal jungles, and now they
don't want the kids to box. Ahhh, suburbia.
