In my opinion, while I may not like everything Beck has put out the last 2
or 3 years, it's still respectable music. You should try to save the
word 'suck' for better situations... Even bands that have seemed to 'wash
out' (personally the Pumpkins are a good example, as is Sebadoh) I still
don't think they flat out suck. Sure, their last 2 or 3 albums have been
nothing to write home about, and I don't rush out to buy them (if I buy
them at all) but for what they released in their heyday, I cant justify
tossing them into the same range of 'suckiness' as say.... Counting Crows,
Matchbox 20 or the next hip-hop rap band that will be worn across the
t-shirts of hundreds of kids in the suburbs.
As for Steropathetic Soul Manure being great.... I dont know about you,
but it's painful for me to sit through 2 minutes of 'Ozzy'. I'll take
Odelay any day over that.
