On the topic of... ...bands that have done the exact opposite of sell-out...Branch off in musical directions against the grain of popular culture despite the threat of million dollar losses.. I've got to give a high five to Mike Patton of Faith No More for his relentles pursuit of experiments in music composition, despite the break up of Faith No More, ie Mr. Bungle and Fantomas. Anyone had a chance to see either one of these? Take a listen to the Fantomas CD and imagine them pulling it off live to a "T." Two parts Mr. Bungle, one part Melvins, and one part Slayer.....
