While I second that emotion, I would also recommend NOW! Music and Fashion...I haven't
actually been there yet, however I've heard they're pretty ok. You can supposedly take
the metro to get there (across the street from the clarendon stop - orange line). It
is in Virgina, so not officially in the District.
For a small price, I'll be happy to sell you a map of the stars including Ian
Mackaye's house, the entire Make-Up crew's place (the revolution grows out of one
place, and I have it on a good authority that it is furnished by IKEA), Travis from
the Dismemberment Plan's apartment, and also up-and-comers like Juliette (the cute one
from the Rondelles). If you want to remember old times, Mark Robinson's (Teenbeat)
old house is still on the map, as is the Haggan-Daaz where one, Henry Rollins used to
work. There are several other notable D.C. stars, not including the city flag/emblem,
for only the biggest of D.C. fans!
anyway...

plus, they fill two of your requirements (clothes and music)! I don't know what
pricing, selection is like.
DCCD is good, but I've found their prices to have gone up making it less worthwhile to
trek downtown when I can order online from the comforts of home.
D.C. is better than Jersey and I am better than you.

p.s. good luck!
