When I saw the apples in stereo open for sebadoh in 97, they were awesome. 
When I saw them last summer, they were completely out-played by Beulah, who 
are definitely one of the best live bands I've seen. Don't know what caused 
the change, but it seemed like they were even bored with themselves.
