I am perhaps the only one left not to play. I had not heard of him until I moved to Austin. He's a hero here of course, and he is playing fairly frequently and I see him whenever I can because I think he's the greatest song writer around and seeing him live is unlike any other live experience. He canceled this weekend just when I was going to make the first decent live recording of him with his band 'The Nightmares' (!). Anyone see the resemblence in DJ's voice and Isaac's voice/lisp? They sound a lot alike, esp on their respective home-made recordings like Duke's Up VS. Casper the Friendly Ghost. The bands with lyrics I like like MM and BTS always sound like they go back to Daniel Johnston, but that's just me.
