Carp at /dev/null line 0

I have a mod_perl app that was working a-ok, but then suddenly after an
edit and ~apache/bin/apachectl graceful, I get the following every time I
access the app:

[error] Carp at /dev/null line 0

WTF does that mean? 

btw - perl -c Script.pm says syntax OK, and other apps via differnt
PerlHandlers on the same httpd proc work fine.
