how to print $ sigh in the output

Hello,   I am writing a perl script which will produce some scripts or files containing "$" but I failed because "$" is used as an operator. Can any one please let me know how to define $ as a simple character. Supposed, I asked to print $PATH in my output. Thank you.     Jamal [EMAIL PROTECTED]
