Brent, I think Stas was having a bit of a look at it, I just ignored the error messages and installed it anyway :)
That issue wasn't resolved so far. I can't reproduce it on my setup.
From Carl's reports it seems that $have_lwp is true for some reason, even though LWP is not available.
Patches are *very* welcome.
