In case anyone missed it on the perl jobs mailing list, we are now
looking for someone to join our New York office. It's a fun place to
work, and we do lots of mod_perl. The job description follows:
Plus Three develops on-line tools that combine web, email and other
communications channels into a single strategic solution. Our efforts
support on-line fund raising, building on-line communities and
increasing the communication between our clients and their constituents.
Plus Three works in the political, non-profit, telecommunication,
financial and publishing industries.Our clients include the Democratic
National Committee, Democratic GAIN, the United Federation of Teachers,
and John Kerry for President.
We are searching for a junior Perl programmer to help with the
development effort in our New York Office. A successful candidate will
have 1-3+ years of experience building web sites using open source
software, including GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
Required skills:
* Perl - Good knowledge of Perl, including OO design, effective use
of the CPAN, and familiarity with modern web development tools like
mod_perl and templating systems.
* SQL - Good knowledge of SQL, including some experience with one or
more of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, Oracle, or other RDMBS.
* GNU/Linux - Exposure to Linux and/or other Unix variants as a
platform for development and deployment.
* Development Process - Exposure and/or experience with automated
test suites and version control. CVS, Subversion, or other version
control systems.
* Communication Skills - Expressive verbal and written
communications skills.
Other relevant skills: XML, XML::Comma, XSLT, XML-RPC, REST, programming
languages other than Perl.
