RedHat Linux 7.2 (kernel 2.4.18-5smp) GNU Make version 3.79.1 perl v5.6.0 built for i386-linux apache 2.0.50 mod_perl 1.99_14
Hi...
I realize that perl 5.6.0 is not supported for mod_perl 1.99_14, but the documentation DOES indicate that it will build with that version of perl, yet I am receiving the following during the 'make' phase:
Not anymore. At least not with the upcoming 1.99_15 release.
Where in the docs did you see that? I suppose this is in the docs coming with the 1.99_14 distro, since I thought I've 5.6.0++ in the online docs. Let me know if I've missed something. Thanks.
I am planning on trying again with 5.8.3. I see in the 5.8.3 build of perl that this define is located in sv.h, but in 5.6.0's sv.h, the define isn't there.
right, but that's not really the reason 5.6.0 is dropped. it's simply too buggy. so 5.6.1 or higher is required.
