You've just committed me to one or the other. Ick. I install mod_perl1, and I get an Apache::Request that works with mod_perl1. I install mod_perl2, and I get an Apache::Request that works with mod_perl2.
This is unacceptable.
But you can run both versions of mod_perl side by side. See http://perl.apache.org/docs/2.0/user/install/install.html#MP_INST_APACHE2
