Hi,
My Company is preparing to build a large scale
hardware infrastructure to support our new modperl application that we expect
will generate quite a bit of traffic.
Our company will be 'betting the farm' on this
application and it's ability to handle a lot of users.
We will need load balancing with failover and
a correctly designed network.
We have a great IT department who are already
spec'ing this out, but I am wondering if there is a modperl expert around who
has experience with large scale modperl applications who could consult on the
planning and design of the infrastructure.
I am thinking about a day or more where someone
could come in and discuss their experience around load balancing and network
setup and provide advice to our IT staff. We need someone to
advise/suggest/guide and then we will implement. We are considering hardware
based systems such as the Cisco CSS Content services switch.
We are in Santa Clara, CA (SF bay area) and would
prefer someone local although that is not absolutely necessary. (We also
have people in Austin TX) What is important is that whoever it is has
experience with modperl applications in a high-availability load-balanced
environment.
We would obviously pay consulting fees.
It could be a day or could become more. We need this in the next few
days/weeks, so if this interests anyone please let me know soon.
The application consists of one or more front end
apache (2.0.x) machines proxypassing to one or more modperl (apache 1.3.x) app
servers.
All state info is stored in a single mysql DB at
this point, so this is not a 'sticky' application (which could possibly change).
We are also accessing MSSQL 2000 data.
Thanks!
Joe Junkin
