Hmm, that's a good question. I think you need Apache2 too.
But they are distinct, right, so it shouldn't matter as long as Apache can incorporate the libperl.so created by the modperl build.

I think not. As mod_perl.so gets loaded into httpd, they should be compiled with the same flags.
I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But give it a try.
