you should be able to do that with a simple redirect, apache1 or 2
look up mod_rewrite or modrewrite
you don't need perl to do that, and since you're running php in
apache, i would recommend against it .

as i understood, it`s possible in several ways:
1.RequestHeader Directive , apache2 only.
2.Multiprotocol Support

3.Apache Module mod_headers , apache2 only
i know it in theory only, and have no enought skills in apache
administration/perl coding.
