much more worth the price of admission than headliners Sloan, who bored many
of us non-followers to tears. >>

Why, thank you very much. I had a great time at that show, although I have to
say that I enjoyed Sloan (as always). They're swell cats and regular voters.I
suppose it wasn't all that ingratiating of them to perform their entire new
album before most people have had a chance to hear it. I love that tune "The
Marquee and the Moon". I am curious as to what other listers might think of
Sloan, especially my Toronto friends. I'm sure some people would find them to
be too poppy (in a rather Todd Rundgren-ish way lately), but I always find
myself enjoying them. By the way, Drew, I'm glad you liked our rendition of
"Band On The Run", not very mod I guess, but I felt the presence of Linda
McCartney at one point (the inept background vocals part!). It was great to
play in front of so many people who were there for Sloan and not our usual
crowd. Tons of people asked us where we were from while buying CDs.

Speaking of Toronto: I say, Speaking of Toronto: We Pills will be bringing
our sweaty brand of pop to the dear old El Mocambo this coming Saturday
night. We're in Buffalo the night before (the Mohawk Place). I'd love to see
you all. Guest list spots are available, of course. And I hope that the Good
Reverend Love will be doing the sermon at his electric church.

Also, Mike Stax has written a very cool article in Pulse! (the Tower Records
magazine) about the reissue scene. Well worth reading. I actually started
reading it while on the verge of being car sick (or van sick) between our New
Jersey and Vermont shows this weekend. It was so engaging that I made myself
really ill by finishing it. Good one.
