Dear Scooterists,

Christmas is almost upon us. Hopefully
that means that you have
finished your shopping (unless you are still recovering from
Alex's
fabulous Christmas extravaganza last Friday) and all that is left to
do is
travel home to se!
!
!
e your families.

But, for those of you who still have so
me last minute shopping to do,
the Saints S.C. have the perfect way for you to unwind
from a hectic
day at the mall, come to their meeting on Sunday afternoon at Misha's
Coffee House in Old Town Alexandria. There's no need to bring your
scooter, though
rumor has it that the crazy gang in Old Town will be
ensuring that their bikes still
run. For you mods who complain that
nothing happens in D.C., come down and recreate
that cafe lifestyle
you read about in Absolute Beginners. The meeting starts at
4:30pm,
yeah, I said 4pm last week, because someone we all know and love won't
leave
the house until the Redskins-Colts game is off the TV. Misha's
is at the intersection
of U.S. 1 (100 N. Patrick Street) and Route 7
(King Street) in Old Towne Alexandria.
That's five blocks from the
King Street (Yellow) metro and six blocks off I-95/495
(Beltway).

Thursday, December 30 marks the return of the Funky Spunk Monkeys S.C.
meetings. Come show everyone what Santa brought you. 8pm is the tim!
!
!
e,
and the Aromi d'Italia Cafe on the city dock in historic Annapolis is
the place
(until we retire to Galway Bay on Maryland Avenue for adult
refreshments). As always,
it will be big fun.

The weekend of 28-30 January is the International Motorcycle Show
at
the Baltimore Convention Center. As always the Bombers S.C. have a
display at the
show and they are looking for some special bikes (and
some volunteers to man the
booth). Do you have a special project to
show off? Bring it up! Two years ago Anna
Deschene's Durkopp Diana
beat out a raft of motorcycles to win Best Vintage European.
Let's
show our scoots off and bring home another trophy! If you have a
special bike
that you'd like to show off at the show please email Mark
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to let
him know about your sweet machine.

February brings up the 2nd Annual Las Vegas
Scooter Rally (Feb 18-21,
President's Day weekend). Three members of the Saints have
already
made their plans to fly out there (and one nutjob is act!
!
!
ually shipping
his scooter with him) to join hundreds of
Californicators, Coloradans,
and other assorted west coasters. The great teeming
masses will be
staying at the Imperial Palace <http://www.ImperialPalace.com>. Will
any other east coasters be joining them?

For those of you for whom travelling home to
see the family at
Christmas isn't enough travelling, from the list above you can see
it
will be a fun packed year for scootering. Hopefully we will see you on
the run.

Merry Christmas -Spunky the monkey
