The above was one of the stupidest posts I've ever seen on the Modslist...
ever...! Lord knows I've written a few myself so I have experience in judging
real stupidity...
What a pile of garbage...! 'OH I HATE TO GET FREE PROMO STUFF'...! yes how
unfortunate that you get free records from the big corporate bad guys... I'm
sure it's a fiendish plot to bother all the hard working fanzine people of the
world by sending them free records.... It must really be upsetting to have to
get free stuff... how do you manage...? Have you set up a support group for
other fanzine writers that can't cope with free stuff...? It may be good to
start a world-wide organization to shed light on the sad sad story of the
fanzine writer... I mean can't the UN do anything to stop these atrocities...?
Amnesty International may be interested in hearing your story Helen... torture
is not looked upon as an acceptable practice anymore (thank you very much EMI)
in most parts of the world and A.I. would probably fight very hard to stop the
senseless sending of free records to the poor fanzine writers like your self
that must be truly suffering...
Have you not got used record stores in your area Helen...? I get plenty of free
records sent to me... what I do (I know it's pretty radical here but...) I pack
them all up and take them to the used record store... they actually give you
money or store credit to purchase good records with... CRAZY isn't it...?! Can
you imagine someone out there wanting all that "free" crap that those mean, evil
record companies send you ...? I can't believe it sometimes either... this is
truly a harsh and bitter world we live in...
There is a light at the end of the 'free record tunnel' for the beleaguered
fanzine writer Helen... it's called the used record store... try one and stop
whining about getting free records...! Man your life must be hard when you have
to bitch about getting free stuff!
FREEDOM!
