There is a transformation taking place that has left Mod behind. I received a promo from Mod Lang of a young Californian band called Mover -- whom have links to the venerable Nick Rossi Set -- that began as Mod band but now sound like a three way pile up of Humble Pie, The Allman Brothers and Poco. (Please let me know more Nick as I quite like their album). Here in England Jack and Fran (who can hardly be viewed as Mods anymore -- but look much better in their casual Country Rock get up) are playing a similar brand of music with their new act. I'll be checking them out on Friday! This progression to me is healthy to say the least -- in 2000 it seems that so many angles of rock are getting tackled. What is the future of Mod? I think it morphs and morphs and although still roughly linked a whole new perspective is taken on. Anyone catch Bronco Bullfrog and The Solar Flares?? Two God like entities.... ______________________________________________ Faster, stronger and able to send millions of emails in one click: the new Topica site! http://www.topica.com/t/14
