I gotta jump on the bandwagon on this....I went down to Rockit Scientist in
NYC yesterday and bought myself a nice John's Children 45 and well needed
something to read on the train back to the provinces I grabbed "The Sharper
World". Once again Paolo Hewitt is proven to be the magpie he is, 95% of
this book contains shit that anyone worth their salt on this list has owned
for the last 15 years. Bits by Richard Barnes, Nik Cohn, Richard Allen, Tom
Wolfe, Kevin Pearce (the best of the lot)and the old Peter Meaden interview
(reprinted ages ago by Mr Dan Geddes in his "Top Gear" zine, THE zine mind
you...). And taking a leaf out of the Weller/Gahallger book he's opted to
throw his old ladies picture on the book who looks more like a department
head of Native American studies at the state university or some woman from a
Saturn commercial. Whatever, I knew it was going to be shit and I was right
but it did occupy my hour and a half train ride....
