Thats too true(see below), people at my office think that i buy jazz albums
for the pose-value, they think that my scooter obsession is a bit of a
quirk, my skinny ties are funny(real thin ties - not satin revival ones,
with "We Are The Mods" written on them!) and so on.
yet all they do, is go home at night and watch TV, complain about the
weather/buses - jeez I'd sooner slit my wrists than live like that.
Maybe we should put acid in the water-supply...
People just cant get excited about music/culture anymore (defensive, but not
passionate), they're just waiting for the next big hype to come along.
it's the old dichotomy of people in baseball hats, who've never been to a
baseball match in their lives.
thats why im a mod - its a fucking vibe, no two mods will agree on what is
quintessentially "mod", its so varied, and long may it stay that way
(garage/soul/ska/who/funk/jazz/r+b/scooters...)
keep on running!
